How to Stay Cyber Safe and Maintain Your Devices
We are in the digital age. During these times you have to stay safe online. You have to protect your privacy and data. In order to do so you must take steps to achieve that success. In order to stay cyber safe and keep your privacy and data safe you must do certain things and be safe online and on your devices. In this article I explain how to stay Cyber Safe and maintain your devices plus how to keep your data and privacy safe.
The First Step is to Close Your tabs You’re not Using
It goes like this folks, if you’re not using a tab at the current moment close it. The tabs are found at the top right most of the time on your internet browser. On your internet browser there should be a little icon with a certain amount of numbers. Those numbers on your phone or tablet or how many tabs you have open on your internet browser. Those tabs can cause your phone or tablet to have issues. If you don’t close basically all of them unless you’re using one at the current moment then a site or the ones you have open can have trackers and malware sometimes especially in bad sites if you never close them. Those sites could slow down your phone if you don’t close them in your tabs on your internet browser. Make sure to close all of them except the ones that you’re going to use again very very soon. Besides that close all of your tabs.
The Next Step is to Close Your Apps You’re not Using
If you have apps open, you should close the ones that you’re not using. There could be a lot of apps that you have on your phone almost every day that you’re not using so make sure you close your apps you’re not using. It’s as simple as going to the bottom of your phone and opening up your apps and closing the ones that you’re not using. You close all your apps with the click of a button most of the time where it says close all apps. Make sure you close most of them because some can contain certain things that slow down your phone and it can slow down your phone just having too many apps open anyway. Close your apps when you’re not using them.
You Must Have Antivirus Software
In order to stay safe on the web and the internet you must have antivirus software. This ensures that you stay safe from viruses and malware and everything else. You can only have one antivirus on your device. Picking an antivirus that you think is best for you and it’s usually cheaper than you would expect. Sometimes for one device you can get an antivirus that’s as little $3 a month. Pick an antivirus that works for you and you can stay protected while you surf the web so you don’t have to worry about hackers or data breaches while you do so. Most antiviruses come with malware protection, antivirus software, a firewall, it’s hard for hackers to get into your phone and sometimes they protect you with money that in case your identity is stolen they can help you in that case with a lot of resources. Stay cyber safe and get an antivirus program as soon as possible if you don’t have an antivirus program. Get a trusted one if you can also. They have certain programs like, Mcaffee, Norton, Avast and Kaspersky. Those are just a few of many trusted antivirus programs you can get to stop trackers, hackers and unwanted data seekers in their tracks.
Get a Cleaner on Your Device
There are alot of different companies that have cleaners for your device and one may do but I’m sure you can have more then 1 cleaner if you like. A cleaner can be as simple as clearing cache, cookies or data from your device which can speed up your device and clear out unwanted clutter. Get a trusted cleaner just like a trusted antivirus program. A cleaner i tend to like is ccleaner, free and easy to use, you can always pay if you wanted to get extra features. Get a cleaner and speed up and clear clutter out of your device.
Never Click Ads or Spam and Scam Things like Phishy Emails and Such
Never click ads if you really don’t know what they are on your device. Some ads can lead to fishy websites and sometimes they can have viruses or malware in them. Ads can seem like they’re nice because basically they have certain things where the computer knows what you like after you’ve watched or clicked things on your device. Your device learns as it goes so it’ll show you related ads and content. Don’t ever click emails that you don’t know and don’t click the spam ones and make sure to delete anyones that aren’t ones that you know of or if they’re spam. Don’t click spammy scammy things and don’t click emails you don’t know.
Stay Off of Bad Websites
We all know that we do what we do sometimes and we watch videos on certain sites that might not be that benevolent. Let me just say this after you watch it make sure you close it number one. Number two is that if you’re going to watch it maybe even have a computer that you designate to that because computers, PC’S and laptops are more designed to protect your data and information rather than a phone or tablet. I would use some kind of VPN or some kind of thing that protects your data while you do it anyway and definently have an antivirus. Make sure you never enter any of your information in any of those websites for then they could be on the dark web. Even if you’re on those websites they can track your data and see your email or phone number sometimes so it’s best never to do it on your phone if you have a laptop or computer it’s best to do something like that on that. It’s best to not do it at all at that point. None of the sites are safe not even the free ones that are on the top 100 or 200 Websites of Alexa or Google or whatever. I suggest never to go on these sites but if you do, do it safely and use protection, lol.
Make Sure you Have a Good Amount of Space on Your Device
If you don’t have a decent amount of free space on your device it can slow down your device because it can’t store data and information anywhere. Clear some space if you need to and have a few GB’s/Giga Bytes free on your devices. It’s good to have a cleaner to help you with this also. A cleaner can clear space and things that can be wrong with your phone.
Use a VPN When on Unsafe or Public Wifi
Usually when you have an antivirus program you get a free vpn but if not you can get a vpn to use for your devices for cheap or possibly free. If you are ever using unsafe or public wifi it’s good to turn on your vpn when connecting to those wifi’s. Use it mostly only when the wifi your on is unsafe or public, besides that sometimes it’s nice to turn on when typing sensitive data in like passwords or financial things. You don’t always need a vpn in fact it can slow your device down if you use it alot so use it only when the things I said already are in affect. Do a little research if your unsure but having a vpn on a wifi your unsure of is highly recomended.

Remember guys this is very serious business, your data and information can really be at risk and can get stolen if you don’t follow mostly all of these steps and possibly do more so that your safe. These are the basics and advanced steps to follow when ensuring you are cybersafe and keeping your data and information safe online. Follow these steps to ensure you are secure while browsing the web or using any of your devices.
